CVE-2026-20242 is an insecure deserialization vulnerability in the External Database Access feature of Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) Software. The feature processes user-supplied serialized Java byte streams received from hosts configured in the external database access list. An unauthenticated remote attacker controlling an allowed host can send a crafted byte stream to a specific TCP port on an affected FMC device, resulting in arbitrary command execution as root.
