CVE-2026-20338 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in ClamAV's ZIP archive parser. The flaw is caused by improper memory handling during processing of ZIP content, specifically an ownership-handling error while merging ZIP catalogue records. When ClamAV scans a malformed ZIP archive, the bug can trigger an invalid free or double-free condition in the scanning process. The issue affects ClamAV 1.5.0 through 1.5.3 and was fixed in version 1.5.4.
