CVE-2026-20346 is a memory-corruption vulnerability in ClamAV's PDF file format parser. The flaw is caused by improper boundary checking while processing PDF content during scanning; more specifically, the issue is described as an integer underflow in PDF parsing that can occur while reading a malformed hex string, leading to an out-of-bounds buffer read. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can trigger the condition by supplying a crafted PDF file to a system that uses ClamAV to scan submitted content. Successful exploitation can terminate the ClamAV scanning process and may have broader consequences consistent with memory-corruption conditions.
