This repository is a minimal proof-of-concept for CVE-2026-21002, demonstrating serverless credential leakage through reused temporary storage. The repository contains three files: a LICENSE, a README describing the issue and usage, and a single Python script, lambda_func_sim.py, which serves as the exploit/demo entry point. The script defines SECRET_FILE as /tmp/credentials, simulates a victim Lambda-style handler that writes an AWS secret to that path on first invocation, and then returns the file contents on later invocations. Outside the handler, the script immediately opens the same file and prints its contents as an attacker simulation, modeling cross-function or cross-invocation access to shared /tmp storage. There are no network callbacks, shells, or persistence mechanisms; the core capability is local file-based information disclosure in a cloud/serverless context. The only fingerprintable endpoint in code is the file path /tmp/credentials, with /tmp referenced in the documentation as the shared storage location. Overall, this is a simple standalone Python PoC intended to illustrate insecure secret handling in reused serverless execution environments rather than a weaponized exploit.
