CVE-2026-22016 is an easily exploitable vulnerability in the JAXP component of Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, and Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. It affects Oracle Java SE 8u481, 8u481-b50, 8u481-perf, 11.0.30, 17.0.18, 21.0.10, 25.0.2, and 26; Oracle GraalVM for JDK 17.0.18 and 21.0.10; and Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition 21.3.17. An unauthenticated attacker can reach vulnerable JAXP APIs through multiple network protocols, including where a web service supplies attacker-controlled data to those APIs. The issue also applies to Java client deployments that execute untrusted code under the Java sandbox, including sandboxed Java Web Start applications and applets.

Small repository containing a single Python proof-of-concept script, a README, and a license. The exploit logic is entirely in ipfs_cid_spoof.py. The script imports multihash and cid, defines two byte strings representing original and fake content, computes a normal CID for the original content, then creates a spoofed multihash by truncating the SHA-256 digest of the fake content to 16 bytes while still labeling it as sha2-256. It then builds and prints a spoofed CID. The purpose is to demonstrate CVE-2026-22016, an alleged IPFS content-spoofing issue where a vulnerable implementation may trust the multihash length field and only compare a digest prefix instead of enforcing the full digest length. There is no networking code, no delivery mechanism, and no post-exploitation payload; this is a local PoC illustrating malformed CID generation and the security impact on downstream IPFS nodes or gateways that validate content incorrectly. Notably, the script as shown references hashlib.sha256 but does not import hashlib, so the PoC may require a minor fix before execution.
