CVE-2026-22022 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in Apache Solr affecting versions 5.3.0 through 9.10.0 when deployments use the RuleBasedAuthorizationPlugin with a multi-role configuration and certain predefined permission rules. The flaw is caused by insufficiently strict input validation in the RuleBasedAuthorizationPlugin components, which can allow unauthorized access to certain Solr APIs despite the intended permission model. The issue is limited to configurations that define multiple roles, use one or more of the predefined permissions config-read, config-edit, schema-read, metrics-read, or security-read, omit the all predefined permission from the permission list, and expose Solr to unfiltered client requests.
