HAX CMS, which manages microsites with PHP or Node.js backends, is vulnerable to a stored cross-site scripting issue in versions 11.0.6 through before 25.0.0. The provided content states that an attacker can upload a malicious HTML file that is later visited by an authenticated administrator. When rendered in the victim’s browser, the file executes attacker-controlled JavaScript in the HAX CMS origin. The advisory further indicates this can be used to refresh and exfiltrate a new JWT access token, resulting in administrator account takeover. The issue was patched in version 25.0.0.
