CVE-2026-23006 is a Linux kernel vulnerability in the ASoC tlv320adcx140 driver. The issue was caused by the snd_soc_component pointer stored in adcx140_priv being used without ever being initialized or set. According to the fix description, this pointer was only used once to reach the associated device object, even though the device pointer was already directly available in adcx140_priv. This design error could result in a null pointer dereference when the affected code path is executed, leading to a kernel fault. The vulnerability is therefore best characterized as a null pointer dereference in kernel driver code.
