CVE-2026-23066 is a race-related queue-management flaw in the Linux kernel RxRPC subsystem's rxrpc_recvmsg() path. When recvmsg() is invoked with MSG_DONTWAIT and the call at the head of the receive queue has a locked mutex, vulnerable code requeues the call without determining whether it is already queued. The call can already be queued when MSG_PEEK prevented its dequeue or when the I/O thread requeued it. Reinserting an already queued call can corrupt the RxRPC recvmsg queue, causing use-after-free conditions or reference-count underruns. The correction requeues only calls not already present, moves already queued calls to the front, balances the dequeue-acquired reference when appropriate, and corrects MSG_PEEK notification handling.
