CVE-2026-23491 is an unauthenticated path traversal vulnerability in InvoicePlane affecting versions up to and including 1.6.3. The flaw exists in the Guest module's Get controller, specifically in the get_file method, where attacker-controlled filename input is not sufficiently constrained before being passed through the file retrieval logic. By supplying traversal sequences in the requested filename, a remote attacker can escape the intended customer file directory and cause the application to read arbitrary files from the underlying server filesystem. The issue can expose sensitive application data, including configuration material and secrets stored in local files.

An unauthenticated arbitrary file read vulnerability in InvoicePlane version 1.6.3 and earlier, reachable via the guest get_file endpoint using path traversal to read sensitive files such as ipconfig.php and expose secrets like DB_PASSWORD and ENCRYPTION_KEY.
A path traversal vulnerability in InvoicePlane (up to and including 1.6.3) within the Guest module Get controller's get_file method that allows unauthenticated arbitrary file read, potentially disclosing sensitive configuration data such as database credentials.
