CVE-2026-23921 is a blind SQL injection vulnerability in Zabbix API service code. An authenticated low-privilege Zabbix user with API access can inject SQL through the sortfield parameter and cause arbitrary SQL SELECT operations. Query output is not returned directly, but an attacker can infer results through time-based blind SQL-injection techniques.

The repository contains a README and one standalone Python 3 exploit, exploit_CVE-2026-23921.py. It is an authenticated, network-facing proof-of-concept for a reported Zabbix API sortfield/groupBy SQL-injection flaw. The script authenticates through the user.login JSON-RPC method unless a bearer token is provided, verifies access to a selected API method, calibrates request latency, and performs character-by-character blind extraction using database sleep functions. It supports PostgreSQL and MySQL payload syntax, configurable delay and expression input, and a set of API services including host.get, trigger.get, item.get, hostgroup.get, action.get, graph.get, mediatype.get, discovery-related methods, httptest.get, maintenance.get, map.get, template.get, usergroup.get, iconmap.get, image.get, and correlation.get. The attack places a legitimate sortable/groupable ID field and a SQL expression in groupBy, while using the SQL expression as sortfield, intending to bypass a sortfield whitelist and place the expression into ORDER BY. No external command execution, persistence, shell payload, or callback infrastructure is present; the intended impact is database data disclosure through timing observations.

A low-privileged API user can abuse the sortfield parameter to execute arbitrary SQL SELECT queries and exfiltrate database contents via time-based inference, potentially disclosing session identifiers and enabling administrator-account compromise.
