CVE-2026-24400 is an XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability in AssertJ Core versions 1.4.0 through 3.27.6. The org.assertj.core.util.xml.XmlStringPrettyFormatter.toXmlDocument(String) method creates a DocumentBuilderFactory with insecure default XML-parser settings that permit DTD processing and external-entity resolution. The vulnerable formatter is reached by the isXmlEqualTo(CharSequence) assertion in AbstractCharSequenceAssert and may also be invoked directly through xmlPrettyFormat(String).
