CVE-2026-25075 is an integer underflow vulnerability in the EAP-TTLS AVP parser used by strongSwan, affecting versions 4.5.0 through 6.0.4 (fixed in 6.0.5). During IKEv2 authentication, the vulnerable parser processes tunneled AVPs and computes a payload length by subtracting the 8-byte AVP header size from an attacker-controlled AVP length field without first verifying that the supplied length is at least 8. If the AVP length is between 0 and 7, this subtraction underflows, producing a very large unsigned value. The resulting value can drive excessive memory allocation attempts and subsequent invalid memory operations, including NULL pointer dereference or heap corruption during memcpy(), ultimately crashing the charon IKE daemon. The issue is reachable remotely and without authentication when the target exposes IKEv2 and uses the vulnerable EAP-TTLS code path.

An integer underflow vulnerability in the strongSwan EAP-TTLS AVP parser that allows remote, unauthenticated attackers to crash the VPN server's IKE daemon, causing denial of service.
An integer underflow vulnerability in the strongSwan EAP-TTLS AVP parser that can be exploited by unauthenticated remote attackers to cause denial of service during IKEv2 authentication, potentially triggering excessive memory allocation or a NULL pointer dereference and crashing the charon IKE daemon.
