CVE-2026-25232 is an access control bypass in Gogs affecting versions 0.13.4 and earlier. The flaw exists in the web interface branch deletion path, specifically the DeleteBranchPost function, which fails to enforce protected branch restrictions when handling a direct POST request. As a result, a repository collaborator with only Write permissions can delete protected branches, including the default branch, even though such operations should be restricted to higher-privileged administrators or repository owners. The issue arises because the vulnerable web deletion operation does not trigger the Git Hook layer, while the SSH push path does enforce protections, creating a discrepancy that allows branch protection to be bypassed through the web UI.
