CVE-2026-2587 is a critical server-side Expression Language injection vulnerability in the Eclipse GlassFish Administration Console gadget handler. The flaw affects the template rendering path used by the gadget handler endpoint, where the server retrieves and processes attacker-supplied XML content and evaluates embedded Jakarta Expression Language expressions without proper sanitization or escaping. Because user-controlled values from the XML are interpreted at runtime by the templating engine, an attacker can inject EL expressions that are executed on the server. The vulnerable behavior is associated with the gadget handler flow exposed through the administration console and the server-side rendering logic in the GlassFish JSF templating component. Successful exploitation can progress from EL evaluation to arbitrary command execution on the underlying host, resulting in full server compromise. Affected versions include Eclipse GlassFish 8.0.0 through 8.0.1, fixed in 8.0.2; 7.1.0, fixed in 7.1.1; and 7.0.0 through 7.0.25, fixed in 7.0.26. Impact on versions 5.1.0 through 6.2.5 is currently not available.
