In File Browser (a web-based file management interface), versions prior to 2.57.1 contain a path-based access control bypass in the enforcement of administrator-configured "Disallow" file path rules. An authenticated user can modify the request URL path by inserting multiple consecutive slashes (e.g., "//private/") such that the application’s authorization/rule-matching logic fails to match the intended disallowed path, while the underlying filesystem/path resolution normalizes the path and accesses the restricted location. This mismatch allows unauthorized access to files/directories that should be blocked by Disallow rules. The issue is fixed in 2.57.1.
