CVE-2026-26190 is a missing and weak authentication vulnerability in Milvus affecting versions prior to 2.5.27 and 2.6.10. Milvus exposes TCP port 9091 by default, and that port hosts management and API functionality that is insufficiently protected. The /expr debug endpoint relies on a predictable default authentication token derived from etcd.rootPath, whose default value is by-dev, allowing an attacker to bypass authentication and perform arbitrary expression evaluation. In addition, the full REST API under /api/v1/* is registered on the metrics or management port without authentication, exposing business operations directly over the network. As a result, an unauthenticated remote attacker can access sensitive administrative and data-plane functionality through port 9091.

A vulnerability identified as CVE-2026-26190, described in the content as affecting Milvus and involving an unauthenticated metrics port API.
An authentication bypass / unauthenticated access issue in Milvus where the management/metrics port (TCP 9091) exposes sensitive endpoints: a predictable default token on /expr debug enabling arbitrary expression evaluation, and an unauthenticated registration of the full REST API (/api/v1/*) on the same port, allowing unauthenticated business operations including data manipulation and credential management.
