CVE-2026-27142 is a cross-site scripting vulnerability in Go's html/template escaping logic. URLs inserted by template actions into an HTML meta element's content attribute were not escaped. When the meta element also specifies http-equiv="refresh", attacker-controlled URL content can break the intended attribute context and execute script in the rendered page. Go introduced URL escaping for action output following "url=" in meta content attributes; the behavior can be disabled through the htmlmetacontenturlescape GODEBUG setting.
