ZoneMinder (versions 1.36.37 and below, and 1.37.61 through 1.38.0) contains a second-order SQL injection in web/ajax/status.php within the getNearEvents() function. Although Event fields (notably Name and Cause) are initially stored using parameterized queries, the application later retrieves these stored values and concatenates them directly into SQL WHERE clauses without proper escaping/parameterization. This enables an authenticated user with Events edit and view permissions to inject SQL via stored Event field content and have it executed when getNearEvents() builds and runs the subsequent query.

This repository is a small standalone Python proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2026-27470, a second-order SQL injection in ZoneMinder. The repository contains three files: a README with usage/documentation, a requirements.txt listing requests/urllib3, and the main exploit script poc.py. The exploit is not part of a larger framework. The core capability is authenticated remote exploitation of ZoneMinder's vulnerable getNearEvents() logic in web/ajax/status.php. The script logs into the target web application, handles CSRF token extraction, maintains a requests session, and then abuses a two-stage workflow: first it stores a SQL payload in an event field (Name by default, optionally Cause), then it triggers the vulnerable nearevents/status functionality so the stored value is concatenated into a later SQL query. This allows extraction of database-backed information without direct inline injection in the trigger request. Operationally, the script supports: default database version extraction, arbitrary custom SQL query execution, optional manual event ID selection, choosing the injection carrier field, proxy support, timeout control, verbose logging, and optional restoration behavior. It also includes a dedicated --dump-users mode that queries the Users table, counts entries, iterates through usernames and password hashes, and writes them to a local file (default dumped_creds.txt). The attack vector is network-based against the ZoneMinder web interface and requires either valid credentials or an instance with authentication disabled, plus event-related permissions. Based on the available code and documentation, this is a real exploit rather than a detector: it performs login, payload staging, trigger requests, and data exfiltration. The repository appears purpose-built for exploitation and credential dumping from vulnerable ZoneMinder deployments.
Repository contains a single Python PoC (poc.py) plus a detailed README for CVE-2026-27470 affecting ZoneMinder. The exploit demonstrates a second-order (stored) SQL injection in ZoneMinder’s web/ajax/status.php getNearEvents() logic: (1) it stores a malicious SQL fragment into an event record (Events.Name via request=event&action=rename, or Events.Cause via request=event&action=edit), which is safely written using parameterized queries; (2) it triggers the vulnerable read path by calling the status API for near events (request=status&entity=nearevents with sort_field set to the chosen field), where the stored value is concatenated into a SQL string, enabling UNION-based extraction. The PoC handles session setup, attempts to extract and reuse CSRF tokens (__csrf_magic / csrfMagicToken), supports optional auth-disabled deployments (detects redirect to privacy page), can auto-discover an event ID via request=status&entity=events, runs a user-supplied SQL query, and includes a --dump-users mode that iterates Users table entries to print usernames and bcrypt password hashes. Primary network interaction is with the ZoneMinder web UI endpoints under /index.php; no hardcoded C2 or external callbacks are present.
