CVE-2026-27489 affects Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX) versions prior to 1.21.0. The vulnerability is a path traversal issue involving symlink handling that allows files outside the intended model directory or other user-provided directory to be accessed. By leveraging a symlink, an attacker can cause ONNX to resolve and read arbitrary files from locations outside the expected filesystem boundary. The issue results in unauthorized file disclosure rather than modification or code execution. The vulnerability was patched in ONNX 1.21.0.
