CVE-2026-27856 is an improper-authentication vulnerability in Dovecot doveadm credential verification. Credentials are compared directly rather than with a timing-safe comparison, allowing timing differences to act as an oracle from which an attacker can derive configured Doveadm credentials. Recovered credentials can be used to obtain full access to the affected component.
