CVE-2026-28866 is a symlink validation vulnerability in the Clipboard component of Apple operating systems. Insufficient validation of symbolic links could allow a local application to cause Clipboard-related file access to resolve through an attacker-controlled symlink target, resulting in unauthorized access to sensitive user data. Apple addressed the issue by improving symlink validation. The vulnerability affects iOS, iPadOS, and macOS releases prior to iOS 18.7.7, iPadOS 18.7.7, iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4, macOS Sequoia 15.7.5, macOS Sonoma 14.8.5, and macOS Tahoe 26.4.
