CVE-2026-29204 is an insecure direct object reference and authorization bypass vulnerability in the WHMCS billing and automation platform. The flaw is caused by an insufficient ownership check in clientarea.php when processing the addonId parameter. WHMCS accepts a user-supplied addon identifier and performs actions in the context of the account that owns that addon without verifying that the authenticated client-area user is authorized to access it. As a result, an authenticated customer can modify the integer addonId value in a request and cause the application to expose or act on another customer's service addon. The issue affects WHMCS 7.4 and later, including 8.x releases before 8.13.3 and 9.x releases before 9.0.4. On shared hosting deployments, exploitation can extend beyond portal-level data exposure to unauthorized access to the victim's associated hosting resources and cPanel account, creating a cross-tenant compromise path.
