CVE-2026-31844 is an authenticated SQL injection vulnerability in the Koha staff interface affecting the /cgi-bin/koha/suggestion/suggestion.pl endpoint. The flaw is caused by improper validation of the displayby parameter used by the GetDistinctValues functionality. An authenticated low-privileged staff user can submit crafted requests that inject arbitrary SQL into backend database queries, resulting in execution of unintended SQL statements. Based on the provided information, exploitation can expose sensitive database information and may enable broader compromise of the backend database, including unauthorized disclosure or modification of stored data.
