CVE-2026-32665 is a remote denial-of-service vulnerability in NLnet Labs Unbound affecting versions 1.22.0 through 1.25.1 when downstream DNS-over-QUIC is enabled. In the downstream DoQ implementation, the first two bidirectional streams on a new QUIC connection, stream IDs 0 and 4, bypass the intended per-stream quic-size enforcement. Large input buffers are then allocated later, after receipt of only the 2-byte length prefix from those initial streams. This creates a memory-accounting bypass in which an attacker can declare large message sizes and cause allocations that exceed the configured quic-size limit with minimal traffic. The flaw is rooted in improper enforcement of resource limits for the initial QUIC streams, allowing oversized allocations before the configured budget gate is applied.
