CVE-2026-32741 is a heap-based buffer overflow in libheif versions through 1.21.2 in MaskImageCodec::decode_mask_image(). While decoding a HEIF file containing a mask image, the vulnerable path copies the complete item-location (iloc) extent into a pixel buffer with memcpy. The copy length is derived from attacker-controlled extent data, whereas the destination allocation is calculated from the declared image dimensions. The absence of a check that constrains extent length to the allocated pixel-buffer size permits a crafted HEIF image to overflow the heap.
