CVE-2026-33150 is a high-severity use-after-free vulnerability in libfuse’s io_uring transport path affecting versions 3.18.0 through 3.18.1. When io_uring thread creation or io_uring queue initialization fails during startup, including under resource-exhaustion conditions such as cgroup pids.max or RLIMIT_NPROC limits, fuse_uring_start() frees the ring pool structure but leaves a dangling pointer stored in session state. During later session shutdown, libfuse dereferences this stale pointer, creating a use-after-free condition in the io_uring session shutdown path. The traditional /dev/fuse transport path is explicitly not affected. The issue was fixed in libfuse 3.18.2.
