CVE-2026-33202 is a file deletion vulnerability in Rails Active Storage affecting versions prior to 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1. In the DiskService#delete_prefixed code path, blob keys are passed to Dir.glob without escaping glob metacharacters. When blob keys contain attacker-controlled input or custom-generated values that include wildcard or other glob pattern characters, the glob operation can match files beyond the intended target set within the Active Storage disk backend. This can result in unintended deletion of files from the storage directory. The issue was fixed by escaping glob metacharacters in the resolved path before invoking Dir.glob.
