CVE-2026-33267 is an improper input validation vulnerability in Apache Traffic Server affecting versions 9.2.0 through 9.2.14 and 10.1.0 through 10.1.3. The flaw arises because Apache Traffic Server does not reliably strip client-supplied hop-by-hop headers named in the Connection header, or internal metadata headers prefixed with "@", from untrusted peers before plugin processing hooks are invoked. As a result, untrusted request data can be exposed to plugin logic as if it were trusted internal metadata, and malformed or smuggled header state can survive into later processing stages. The issue is associated with request and response header hook handling and internal header stripping logic, enabling request smuggling and metadata injection conditions.
