CVE-2026-33631 is a local policy-enforcement bypass in ClearanceKit for macOS affecting versions in the 4.1 branch and earlier. ClearanceKit’s opfilter Endpoint Security system extension enforced per-process file access authorization (FAA) policy only for ES_EVENT_TYPE_AUTH_OPEN events. Seven additional file operation authorization event types were not subscribed to or evaluated, creating gaps in enforcement. A locally running process could perform file operations via one of those unhandled event types and bypass the configured FAA policy without triggering a denial. The issue was fixed by commit a3d1733, which added subscriptions for the seven missing event types and routed them through the existing FAA policy evaluator. The fix also preserves XProtect change detection by specially handling AUTH_RENAME and AUTH_UNLINK on the XProtect path, allowing those events and invoking the existing onXProtectChanged callback instead of applying user policy.
