CVE-2026-34078 is a critical sandbox-escape vulnerability in Flatpak versions prior to 1.16.4. The D-Bus Flatpak portal accepts sandbox-expose option paths that can be application-controlled symbolic links targeting arbitrary host locations. When Flatpak run resolves and mounts the resulting host path into the application sandbox, the sandboxed application can obtain access to arbitrary host files. This host filesystem access can be used as a primitive for code execution in the host user context.

A sandbox escape vulnerability in Flatpak used by Tails' Tor Browser that could allow an attacker who already controls Tor Browser via another vulnerability to break browser confinement and access files not protected by an administration password, including Persistent Storage.
A Flatpak sandbox escape vulnerability that can lead to host file access and code execution in the host context.
A vulnerability in Flatpak prior to 1.16.4 allows sandbox-expose paths to use app-controlled symlinks to arbitrary host paths, enabling access to host files and potentially code execution in the host context.
