CVE-2026-34714 is a code execution vulnerability in Vim affecting versions prior to 9.2.0272. The flaw is triggered when Vim opens a crafted file in the default configuration. The issue is caused by %{expr} injection in tabpanel handling when the relevant component lacks P_MLE protections, allowing attacker-controlled expression content to be evaluated during file processing. Because exploitation occurs immediately upon opening the malicious file and does not require non-default settings, the vulnerability presents a direct path from crafted content to command execution within the context of the Vim process.
