CVE-2026-35414 is a security bypass vulnerability in OpenSSH before 10.3 affecting sshd certificate principal matching for user-trusted Certificate Authority keys specified via authorized_keys. In uncommon configurations, sshd mishandles the authorized_keys principals="" option when the principals list contains multiple entries and a presented certificate includes a principal name containing a comma character. This can cause incorrect matching between the configured principals restriction and the certificate principal list, allowing inappropriate acceptance of a certificate principal that should not satisfy the restriction. The issue is limited to the authorized_keys principals option path used with CA keys and does not affect the primary OpenSSH certificate authentication model based on TrustedUserCAKeys together with AuthorizedPrincipalsFile.
