CVE-2026-35519 is a remote code execution vulnerability in FTLDNS (Pi-hole FTL) affecting versions 6.0 through before 6.6. The flaw is in the DNS host record configuration parameter dns.hostRecord. An authenticated attacker can supply newline characters in this parameter to inject arbitrary dnsmasq configuration directives. Because the injected directives are processed by the underlying DNS service stack, this can be leveraged to achieve command execution on the host running Pi-hole. The provided context also maps the issue to CWE-93 in addition to CWE-78, consistent with improper neutralization of CRLF/newline input enabling downstream command injection behavior.
