CVE-2026-40477 is a server-side template injection vulnerability in Thymeleaf versions 3.1.3.RELEASE and earlier. Thymeleaf's expression-execution protections do not adequately restrict the scope of objects accessible from a template, enabling access to certain potentially sensitive objects despite intended expression-injection safeguards. When an application supplies unvalidated attacker-controlled input directly to the template engine, an unauthenticated remote attacker can bypass those protections and inject or execute template expressions.
