A use-after-free vulnerability exists in NGINX Open Source and NGINX Plus in ngx_http_ssl_module during client-certificate verification and OCSP processing. The flaw is reachable when ssl_verify_client is configured as on or optional, and ssl_ocsp is enabled or OCSP leaf parameters are configured with a resolver. If a TLS connection closes before asynchronous OCSP DNS resolution completes, the request context pool can be destroyed without cancelling the outstanding resolver request. When the resolver timer later fires, it dereferences a freed pointer, causing a heap use-after-free in the NGINX worker process.
