CVE-2026-40982 is a directory traversal vulnerability in the spring-cloud-config-server module of Spring Cloud Config. The module can serve text and binary files, and a specially crafted URL can cause file-path resolution to escape intended directories. Affected versions are Spring Cloud Config 3.1.0–3.1.13, 4.1.0–4.1.9, 4.2.0–4.2.6, 4.3.0–4.3.2, and 5.0.0–5.0.2.
