CVE-2026-41702 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in VMware Fusion on macOS caused by a time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition during an operation performed by a SETUID binary. An attacker with local access and only non-administrative user privileges can exploit the race condition to interfere with the privileged operation and obtain root privileges on the host where VMware Fusion is installed. Broadcom indicates the issue affects VMware Fusion versions prior to 26H1, including 25H2.
