CVE-2026-42018 is an improper-authentication vulnerability in JFrog Artifactory's AWS token-exchange flow. A trailing-slash path-matching discrepancy can bypass the AWS token authentication filter. The request is subsequently assigned Artifactory's internal anonymous identity, which the token endpoint trusts and uses to mint an anonymous-user JWT even when anonymous access is disabled. The issued token can authenticate to Artifactory APIs and inherits permissions assigned to the internal anonymous user.
