CVE-2026-42510 is a command injection vulnerability in OpenStack Ironic's IPMI console implementations. In affected versions, a project manager associated with a node through the node.owner field can supply crafted input that is incorporated into ipmitool console execution, causing arbitrary commands to be executed by the Ironic conductor when the console is activated. The issue affects deployments that explicitly enabled the ipmitool-shellinabox or ipmitool-socat console interfaces; console backends are not enabled by default. Affected version ranges include 4.3.0 through before 26.1.6, 27.0.0 through before 29.0.5, 30.0.0 through before 32.0.1, and 33.0.0 through before 35.0.1.
