CVE-2026-42523 is a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in Jenkins GitHub Plugin 1.46.0 and earlier. The flaw is caused by improper processing of the current job URL in JavaScript used to validate the "GitHub hook trigger for GITScm polling" feature. Because attacker-controlled or insufficiently sanitized data is incorporated into stored content that is later rendered in the Jenkins web UI, a non-anonymous attacker with Overall/Read permission can inject malicious JavaScript that executes in another user's browser when the affected page is viewed.
