CVE-2026-43585 affects OpenClaw versions before 2026.4.15. In affected versions, OpenClaw resolves bearer-auth configuration at process startup and retains that resolved state instead of re-resolving authentication material on each request. As a result, when the underlying SecretRef is rotated to revoke or replace bearer tokens, the gateway HTTP and WebSocket handlers continue validating requests against stale startup-cached authentication data. This creates an authorization bypass condition in which bearer tokens that should have been invalidated by SecretRef rotation remain accepted for gateway access.
