CVE-2026-43910 is a high-severity vulnerability in Appium Java Client affecting versions 8.2.1 through before 10.1.1 when directConnect(true) is enabled. In the vulnerable implementation, AppiumCommandExecutor.setDirectConnect() consumes directConnectHost, directConnectPort, and directConnectPath values from the server's NEW_SESSION response and reconstructs the client's server URL based on those untrusted fields. The implementation verifies only that the resulting protocol is HTTPS and does not enforce host allowlisting or IP-address validation. As a result, a rogue, malicious, or compromised Appium server can cause the client to redirect all subsequent session traffic to an attacker-chosen destination. This creates a server-side request forgery condition and an unintended proxying behavior that can be used to pivot into internal networks and reach sensitive internal services, including cloud instance metadata endpoints.
