CVE-2026-44277 is a critical improper access control vulnerability in Fortinet FortiAuthenticator caused by insufficient authorization checks on API interfaces. The flaw affects FortiAuthenticator 8.0.0, 8.0.2, 6.6.0 through 6.6.8, and 6.5.0 through 6.5.6. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can send crafted requests to exposed vulnerable interfaces and bypass intended access restrictions, resulting in execution of unauthorized code or commands on the target system. The issue has been described as network-exploitable with no privileges and no user interaction required.
