CVE-2026-44579 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Next.js affecting applications that use Partial Prerendering through the Cache Components feature. In vulnerable versions prior to 15.5.16 and 16.2.5, crafted POST requests to a server action can trigger a request-body handling deadlock associated with the resume mechanism for Partial Prerendered requests. The flaw can leave connections open for an extended period instead of completing or failing cleanly, causing accumulation of open sockets and file descriptor consumption. The issue is associated with improper acceptance of a resume-related header from untrusted external requests, enabling attackers to induce connection exhaustion against affected deployments.
