CVE-2026-45316 affects Open WebUI prior to version 0.9.3. The POST /api/v1/notes/{id}/pin endpoint performs a state-changing write operation by toggling the note's is_pinned field, but authorization logic only verifies that the requester has read permission on the shared note. As a result, a user with read-only access can pin or unpin the note despite lacking write privileges. This is an authorization flaw in access control enforcement for a modification endpoint.
