CVE-2026-45332 is a broken access control vulnerability in Automad affecting versions from 2.0.0-alpha.1 through 2.0.0-beta.27. The first-user setup API endpoint remains publicly reachable after initial installation instead of being disabled or restricted once configuration is complete. An unauthenticated attacker can send a POST request to the setup endpoint and receive serialized user data in the JSON response, including bcrypt password hashes for administrator accounts. Available reporting also indicates that version 2.0.0-beta.27 may additionally expose TOTP secrets and the absolute filesystem path to the configuration directory. The flaw stems from improper authorization and lifecycle handling of an installation-time administrative function that should no longer be accessible after setup.
