CVE-2026-46135 is a race condition in the Linux kernel NVMe/TCP target implementation (nvmet-tcp). The flaw is in the interaction between Initialization Connection Request handling and target-side queue teardown. After sending an Initialization Connection Response, nvmet_tcp_handle_icreq() updated queue state without proper serialization against concurrent teardown. If a remote NVMe/TCP host sends an ICReq and immediately closes the connection, teardown can begin before queued work processes the buffered request. In that situation, teardown moves the queue into a disconnecting state and drops a queue reference, but later ICReq processing can overwrite the state back to LIVE. The same issue also exists on the ICResp send-failure path, where the state could be changed to FAILED after teardown had already started. This breaks the disconnecting-state guard and can permit teardown to be re-entered, resulting in an additional kref_put() on an already released queue.
