CVE-2026-46323 is a Linux kernel networking vulnerability in the Generic Receive Offload (GRO) path. The flaw is in skb_gro_receive(), which could copy or append fragments between a source skb and the GRO skb without checking zerocopy status, specifically the SKBFL_MANAGED_FRAG_REFS flag. When SKBFL_MANAGED_FRAG_REFS is set, the skb does not hold page references for the pages in shinfo->frags. If those fragments are appended to another skb without correcting page reference counts, the kernel can later access freed memory, resulting in a use-after-free condition. The upstream fix changes GRO behavior so that skbs are not merged when either the source skb or the last skb in the GRO chain is zerocopy.
