CVE-2026-47429 is a Windows-specific path traversal vulnerability in Vitest affecting the UI/API and Browser Mode when the server is listening. The flaw allows unauthenticated remote clients to supply crafted path manipulation input that bypasses intended directory restrictions and accesses files outside the designated project scope. On affected Windows deployments, this results in arbitrary file read from the host file system. Available reporting also indicates that, in exposed configurations where the API supports file write and rerun functionality, the same exposure can contribute to arbitrary script execution by enabling modification of project files followed by test reruns.
